Individual/Self: The self is relatively stable set of perspectives of who we are in relation to ourselves, others and to social systems. The self is socially constructed in the sense that it is shaped through interaction with other people. The individual is not a passive participant in the socialization process, having a powerful influence over how this process and its consequences develop. (MacKay, 2018)
