
1: Principles serve as the foundation of a system of belief, behaviour or reasoning.
2: They are what people believe to be the fundamental truth or proposition.
3: Principles include the basic rules, norms, or values that represent what people regard as desirable and positive for an individual, group, organization, or community.
4: Principles help individuals, groups, organizations and communities to determine the rightfulness or wrongfulness of specific actions. Principles are more basic than policy and objectives, and are meant to govern both. (Baier, A., 2005)
